Measured building surveys

Accurate existing floor plans, elevations and sections of your property, delivered as DWG and PDF – the foundation of every planning and Building Regulations drawing.

What we survey

We measure the existing building on site with laser measures or a 3D laser scanner, then draw it up in CAD. You receive a clean, dimensioned set of drawings that can be used directly for design, planning, party wall or lease purposes.

  • Existing floor plans for every level
  • Existing elevations of all faces
  • Cross and long sections
  • Roof plans and loft plans
  • Site plans with boundaries, levels and trees
  • Ceiling heights, window and door positions
  • Point-cloud surveys where high accuracy is needed
  • Output in DWG, DXF and PDF at the scale you need

Who uses our surveys

Homeowners starting a project, architects and designers who want to outsource the site work, estate agents and landlords who need accurate floor plans, and solicitors and surveyors dealing with lease plans and party wall matters.

SURWAY – our measured survey marketplace

North Home Design Ltd also runs SURWAY, where you can order a measured survey from a local surveyor or buy existing survey data for your address. If you only need a survey and not a design service, SURWAY is the quickest route.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a survey take?

A typical house takes two to four hours on site. Drawings are normally issued within a few working days.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to give us access to every room, the loft and the garden. Tenanted properties are fine with the tenant’s agreement.

What accuracy do you work to?

Laser-measured surveys are drawn to ±10 mm to ±20 mm depending on the building, which is suitable for planning, Building Regulations and most construction purposes.
